People: Abubakar Abid

Abubakar will receive his Bachelor’s of Science degree in electrical engineering and computer science in 2015 from MIT and is concurrently working toward an M.Eng. degree in BioEECS. Abubakar’s research interests include applied mathematical modeling for human physiology, signal processing to inform clinical care, and systems-level electronics for medical devices. Abubakar is currently working on building a model for lung physiology that can explain distinct features in capnographs of patients with normal and diseased lungs. Abubakar is also interested in entrepreneurship, squash (the sport), and transhumanism.
